Eric Golberg, Director of Youth and Young Family Engagement

Eric Golberg is a graduate of Adlai E. Stevenson High School and as President of his USY chapter, BJUSY (Congregation Beth Judea) won Chapter of the Year. He was also very active with CBS USY, attending weekly programs and events. Eric went on to obtain his Bachelor of Science Degree in Integrated Elementary and Special Education from the University of Hartford in Connecticut. During his time in college, Eric was president of Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity and was a Student Engagement Intern for the University of Hartford Hillel.

Upon graduating, Eric taught third grade and special education in West Hartford, Connecticut for two years. In addition to teaching public school, Eric also taught at Jewish Teen Learning Connections where he developed curriculum and classes for teens. During his summers, Eric was a Unit Head for the JCC day camp and has staffed multiple teen trips around the world.

Eric returned back to the Chicagoland area in the summer of 2018 where he took on the position of Kadima Coordinator and USY Advisor at Congregation Beth Judea in Long Grove, IL. Eric is excited to join the CBS Family and help grow the youth programs here. Eric’s responsibilities range from young family programming through high school with USY. Melissa Kaplan, Young Family Advisor

Melissa Kaplan grew up in Buffalo Grove and spent many summers attending and working in Jewish camping. Melissa graduated from Washington University in St. Louis where she earned a degree in Middle School and Secondary Education and a Minor in Jewish Studies. While in school, she worked as a JUF Lewis Intern.  Melissa currently works as an HR Director at Discover Financial Services in Riverwoods and resides in Northbrook with her husband, Jordan, and 2 kids, Blake and Taylor.

Adam Blue, Youth Advisor

Adam Blue is beginning his Sixth year as a CBS USY advisor. He graduated from Indiana University in 2015 with degrees in History and Jewish Studies, and is currently the Midwest High School Coordinator at StandWithUs. Clearly, Adam is passionate about Israel and experiential education. While in USY, Adam served as a Freshman Representative, Executive Vice President (twice), and as President all under the watchful eye of Melissa Kaplan!
