Daily Minyan

Daily Minyan

CBS offers daily morning and evening minyanim.

minyan is the foundation of a spiritual community.  Our CBS family is proud to offer daily egalitarian worship services morning and evening every day of the year. Services require a “minyan” (a quorum of 10 adults), and thus we welcome all members of the community and their attendance is cherished. Both our daily morning and evening minyanim are held in-person and live streamed.

The minyan supports those in need of reciting Kaddish on the anniversary of a death or during the 11 months of mourning after a close relative has passed away, but it’s much more than that. The morning minyan is a way to start the day off on the right foot with prayer time for introspection.

Minyan is held in the Feather Beit Midrash:

  • Sunday and legal holidays at 8:45 a.m.
  • Monday – Friday at 7:45 a.m.
  • Sunday – Thursday evening at 7:45 p.m.

Dress code is casual.

  • Please take an active role in our community by helping us make Minyan every morning & evening.
  • No pre-registration is required to attend in-person or to watch the Live Stream.
  • Current COVID Requirements:
    • As of August 19, 2022 Congregation Beth Shalom is mask optional.  This includes all Shabbat services and daily minyanim, programs, classes and meetings (ages 2 and up), unless otherwise specifically noted. We encourage anyone who feels more comfortable to continue to wear a mask.

This policy can change based on input from the CBS COVID Task Force, Cook County, the Village of Northbrook and the State of Illinois.

Congregation Beth Shalom is committed to the safety of all of its congregants and staff.  Our Medical Advisory Task Force continuously monitors COVID-19 updates from local, state and federal authorities in an effort to provide our community with recommendations and guidelines for their continued safety both inside and outside of the synagogue.  For the most recent updates from each of these agencies, click on their respective link provided below.

  • If you’re not feeling well, you should not attend any worship services in person at CBS.
