Our congregation has created The Legacy Society to recognize those members who have made far-sighted legacy gifts, and to encourage others to do likewise. This is a superb way to memorably express a permanent financial and spiritual commitment to our congregation.
A Planned Gift (or Legacy Gift) is a profound statement of values. It sets aside money today, in a strategic and thoughtful way that has an impact beyond our lifetimes. Whether by making a gift or bequest in your estate plan, or through a number of other options, each planned gift can help strengthen CBS’s endowment, and secure its financial future for decades to come. By joining the Legacy Society, each congregant – regardless of age – is making a profound commitment to CBS’s ability to enrich the Jewish identity and education of future congregation families, and to enhance Jewish life in our Northbrook community. A member of our committee can meet with you at your convenience and your gift or bequest can be kept confidential if you wish.
Please consider including CBS in your estate plans, or make other arrangements that can distinguish you and your family as an advocate of what The Legacy Society represents today…and in our congregation’s future.
On a special note, this society was created in partnership with the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago’s Create a Jewish Legacy, a program that trains synagogues, Jewish day schools and agencies on how to build their endowments to ensure the sustainability of the Jewish community for years to come. Congregation Beth Shalom has received $22,000 to The Congregation Beth Shalom Legacy Society through the program and has had multiple congregants declare their intent to add CBS to their Estate Plan.
