 About the Innovations

Emergency Bandage: Saving Lives
Mr. Bernard Bar Natan
CEO, First Care Products

After service in the Israeli reserves, Bar Natan was disturbed to learn that bandage technology had remained unchanged since 1942. This realization propelled him to create the Emergency Bandage, an integral component of emergency hemorrhage control in pre-hospital situations. In addition to its use by many of the world’s most highly regarded military organizations, the bandages are utilized by civilian emergency and fire rescue services, police forces, first-aid and survival training academies and civilians around the world. Learn more about the Emergency Bandage and how it is saving lives at home and on the battlefield.

Eyeball Cam: IDF
Mr. Charles Perkins
Asst. Director, Policy & Gov. Affairs, AIPAC

Israeli law enforcement faces many more rescue, ambush and dangerous situations than most countries. As a result, they sought to develop a way to look inside a potentially hostile room or dangerous area before risking the life of a solider or law enforcement officer. They developed the Eyeball Cam – a ball with embedded cameras and sensors that can be thrown into a room or area, settle itself upright, and then wirelessly send 360 degree images of what is happening inside the room. The technology is now being used to save American lives at home and abroad.

EndoPAT: Diagnosing Early Heart Disease
Dr. Sivan Ebril
Medical Director, Itamar Medical Inc.

Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States. About every 25 seconds, an American will have a coronary event. Luckily, an Israeli company has found a quick and easy way to diagnose early heart disease using a devise known as the EndoPAT. By measuring blood flow through a patient’s fingers, the EndoPAT assesses the functioning of the endothelial cells, which line the inner walls of blood vessels. Damage to these cells may be an early sign of heart disease. Learn more about the EndoPAT from a representative from Itamar Medical, the company developing the device and see a demonstration of how this Israeli innovation works.
