GIVE YOUR SPIRIT A WORKOUT!
Charity is a fundamental part of the Jewish way of life.
Reaching out to those in need is central to Jewish being. Congregation
Beth Shalom offers opportunities to donate your time and/or items to
help others. Beth Shalom will continue with projects of the past and
will establish new projects - all which will need volunteers!
Volunteer to join our CBS Social Action Committee and be one of our Mitzvah Volunteer Partners (MVPs). No experience is required. Have a suggestion for a project? New areas of concern can be addressed at any moment. . Most of all, we need your help. Use the links on the left to see our upcoming activities. Check this site often for updates!
CBS IN ACTION Throughout the Year
During the
past year, more than 300 CBS volunteers of all ages – young and old
alike - have helped our community, but we need many, many more. We need
leaders/coordinators who can spearhead projects as well as volunteers to
make these projects happen and support our Jewish and non-Jewish
friends in need. With your help
We at Congregation Beth Shalom
feed and clothe the local homeless through PADS shelters
provide support to local Jewish social service agencies such as Shalva, Jewish Child and Family Services, the Ark, and others
support our troops
provide flu shots
provide much needed assistance to LifeSource through our annual blood drive
stock and sort food at our local food pantry
Help with one or with all – whatever works for you and your
situation. If time is an issue, try a short project - something that
takes just an hour or two like stocking our local Northfield Township
food pantry, which is a quick and easy social action project.
Please call Jill Olefsky at 847-272-1758 or email her at jolefsky@aol.com if you can join us or have a project to suggest.
