The Florence Melton Adult Mini – School

Together with local synagogues (like Congregation Beth Shalom), the Community Foundation for Jewish Education coordinates an innovative two-year program consisting of 30 classes each year, held weekly for two hours. The Melton school encourages students to increase participation in Jewish life through systematically planned lessons exploring many aspects of Judaism, and extra-curricular activities including holiday workshops and celebrations, guest lecturers and field trips. There are no exams, grades, or prerequisites. Upon completion of the two years of study, students receive the Hebrew University Certificate of Jewish Study, and many students choose to culminate their Jewish studies at the Florence Melton Adult Mini - School Institute two-week seminar in Israel. The first year courses include The Rhythms of Jewish Living and The Purposes of Jewish Living, while the second year courses cover The Dilemmas of Jewish Living and The Ethics of Jewish Living.
